Attorney General Federation and the Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) have warned the Nigerians not to attach political interpretations to every judicial problem of their own perception.
Fagbemi who gave a warning while speaking in the presentation of a book entitled “Commemoration and Trophy, Ajibola Ball in his own words,” in Lagos on Thursday, said such political interpretations would always indicate danger and doubt.
AGF, who frowned in the practice, urged the Nigerians and political stakeholders to always eliminate emotions and rely on the state constitution in seeking answers to legal questions.
Fagbemi who uses the new emergency rules declaration in the state of the Rivers by the Tinubu Bola President as a case study, emphasized that so far, he has maintained neutrality about this issue because this is a litigation problem in the Legal Court.
“When a problem like this arises, people must go and read very well and make themselves accustomed to what the law says. This is not a matter of sentiment or emotions, but the problem of basic facts in the field,” AGF said.

He noted that the appointment of the young Admiral Ibas Ibok-ete Iba as the only river administrator after the suspension of the Governor of SIM Fubara and the Council of the Council by Tinubu had produced a variety of views, however, warning the unnecessary comments by people who were uncomfortable with the Presidential Decree and interpreted their laws based on their law.
“Nigeria must stop interpreting the law based on political alignments, but let us remain on the law. You will see that I have avoided the side of any problem, even though I am part of the government.
“I know that this problem has experienced judicial supervision, and we must allow the court to make decisions in one way or another.
“People must avoid making unnecessary comments. Because we have experienced interpretation problems, let’s wait for the justice to make a statement,” he emphasized.
