[Press Release] The attention of the Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission (Nidcom) was attracted by a disturbing video on social media that shows a protest by some Ghanaians who ask the authority to postpone the Nigerians in Nigeria by claiming that their behaviors and attitudes were not in accordance with the Ghana rules.

In a declaration, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Nigerian president/CEO in the Diaspora Commission (Nidcom), said that the general indignation against the Nigerians who lives in Ghana and the brand as criminals should be sentenced by everyone.
“The Nigerians are not criminals. They are good ambassadors6 wherever they are while the bad ones should be caught to face the necessary sanctions”.
“Ghana and Nigeria are like Siamese twins. They are brothers and in the spirit of Ecowas, and regional integration should continue to live in peace as brothers.
The head of Nidcom thus appealed to calm and urged the Nigerians who lived in Ghana not to be caused or to violence with anyone while the matter is managed at a diplomatic level by the Minister of State Foreign Affairs, the white ambassador Ojukwu
He advised anyone to use incite words about both sides to give up from now on as these declarations are able to intensify the matter.
Dabiri-Erewa also recommended to Nigerians to ignore the videos, circulating that the shops and properties of the Nigerians are destroyed by the Ghanaians. “There is no evidence for this, and we must at all costs try to prevent any attacks of retaliation.”
He praised the high commissioners of Ghana and Nigeria for their efforts to control the situation, adding that the Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, was also in contact with the authorities of Ghana and adopted some proactive measures.
