ASUU warns of a strike over the 2025 agreement

The Kano Zone of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has warned of an impending industrial crisis in the country’s universities due to the failure of the Federal Government to fully implement the 2025 agreement signed with the union.
The ASUU Zonal Coordinator, Prof Abdulkadir Muhammad, gave this warning in a press conference held at Bayero University, Kano, Wednesday.

Muhammad said the government’s delay in forming an Implementation Monitoring Committee had resulted in uncoordinated implementation of the agreement.

He explained that key components of the agreement, including salary and benefit adjustments, remain largely unimplemented.
