“My sincere thanks to Honorable Taiwo Lekan-Salami for his trust and support.

“If I’m honest, my role was small. The heart, sweat and sacrifice came from the players who gave their all and the staff who worked day and night out of sight.

“Media and fans, I beg you: celebrate these guys and the backroom team more. They deserve every applause, every headline.”

Aweroro was appointed head coach of the Ibadan club last summer, following his brief spell at Ikorodu City.

The young tactician guided the Oga Boys to a respectable fourth position in the NPFL last season.

He is widely regarded as one of the brightest young coaches in the Nigerian top flight.
