Ayegunle Bunu community in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State was reportedly thrown into panic in the early hours of Monday, June 1, 2026, following a bandit attack that left one person dead and over 30 people kidnapped.
According to initial information, the attack occurred around 2.25am. One person was killed during the accident, while another was injured.
Sources further revealed that among those abducted were two residents of Ayegunle Bunu, a man and a woman.
The remaining victims were reportedly passengers traveling on a commercial bus that was intercepted by the attackers while passing through the area.
At the time of writing this report, security agencies have not released an official statement regarding the incident and efforts are underway to ascertain the exact number of casualties and other details about the attack.
