The president of the boys’ brigade (BB) Nigeria, a state of state of Kaduna, Abraham Gaga, invited the federal government to prioritize the involvement of young people in the construction of the nation, underlining that Nigeria cannot obtain significant development while questioning its young people.
Speaking during the 65th celebration of the day of the independence organized by the Kudansa Battalion Council of the BB of Kaduna, Gaga said that it was time that the government starts looking inwards and exploits the ability of the Nigerian young people as “first -line runners” of national growth.
“Young people are important; we cannot put them aside, we cannot neglect them. We ask the Ministry of Youth to be proactive, to be engaged and see that we have young people and we have the ability to bring change in the nation,” he said.
He warned that the country must not leave his young population behind him if he hopes to advance towards a better Nigeria.
On the threat of drug abuse among young people, Gaga observed that drug addicts should be seen as victims rather than criminals, urge the government to strengthen the import and drug consumption policies.
“A drug user is actually a victim, and therefore we have to help them and get them out of that situation. If you go to drugs, destroy your life and you will have no value. The better the Nigeria we are talking about, you may not be part of it,” he warned.
Gaga has recommended young people to channel their energy into production initiatives, in particular education and agriculture, which has described as a sector with unlimited opportunities.
“Agriculture is a large sector that is coming and all those who have ever entered can never be wrong. So we are encouraging that these young people should lead their lives to do something about farmhouses, and therefore be able to have a better life so that you can have a better Nigeria,” he added.
Even speaking, Polycarp Gakon, one of the leaders of the BB, said that the group’s main objective was to model a good character among young boys, instill discipline and encourage them to be self -sufficient through acquisition and ability responsibility programs.
In addition, the president of the Kudansa battalion, Seth Abba has reaffirmed BB’s commitment to model a good character among young boys, underlining that building values in the life of young people will do a lot to model the future of the country.
According to him, young people should engage in whatever they do and must be guided to live with a purpose.
He noticed that the training of young people in character and in the service is a basis that prepares them not only for personal success, but also for significant contributions to national development. “When we train them well today, tomorrow we assure ourselves the future of our country,” he underlined.
Abba also explained that beyond the development of the character, the brigade also equips young practical skills to make them self -sufficient.
He said that the Empowerment programs of young people are regularly organized to encourage innovation, entrepreneurship and personal growth. These efforts, he added, are designed to help young people face the challenges of the modern world with trust and resilience.
The event, which presented a colorful march and parade, brought together members of the boys’ brigade, parents and leaders of the community, which described the organization as a platform to collect disciplined and patriotic citizens.
