The remains of the former president Muhammadu Buhari were buried in his residence in Daura, in the state of Katsina, among tears and prayers by his immediate family members, the president Bola Tinubu, the governors, the ministers and the masses, among the thousands of mourning.

The burial attended the vice -president Kashim Shettimo, the former vice -president, Yemi Osinbajo (San), the president of Guinea Bissau, Umano Sissoco Embaló and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Niger, Ali Lamine Zeine.

Others were heads of service, captains of industry, former governors, representatives of the President of the Republic Chad, Islamic clerics and other high -profile personalities within AMD of outside the country.

As part of the final honors, a joint military team made a greeting of 21 pistols before the former president was buried in his private residence in Daura.

Before his final intervention, the head of the defense staff, General Christopher Musa, who read the Quote of Buhari, described his disappearance as a profound loss for the country and his immediate family.

Musa said that the deceased Buhari was a good soldier, who showed a high sense of professionalism, discipline, honesty, integrity and altruistic service to the country.

Previously upon arrival in Daura, the body was welcomed by a gigantic crowd, praising the name of Allah and looking for divine mercy for the former Nigerian leader.

The members of the family of the deceased president was allowed to see his body for a few minutes to offer fervent prayers for the rest of his soul.

Buhari, a former state military chief from 1984 to 1985, returned to power through the democratic elections in 2015 and was re -elected in 2019.

His charges have been marked with anti -corruption campaigns, infrastructure reforms and a mixed record on safety and economic growth.
