The remains of the former president Muhammadu Buhari were buried in his residence in Daura, in the state of Katsina, among tears and prayers by his immediate family members, the president Bola Tinubu, the governors, the ministers and the masses, among the thousands of mourning.

The burial attended the vice -president Kashim Shettimo, the former vice -president, Yemi Osinbajo (San), the president of Guinea Bissau, Umano Sissoco Embaló and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Niger, Ali Lamine Zeine.

Others were heads of service, captains of industry, former governors, representatives of the President of the Republic Chad, Islamic clerics and other high -profile personalities within AMD of outside the country.

As part of the final honors, a joint military team made a greeting of 21 pistols before the former president was buried in his private residence in Daura.

Buhari, a former state military chief from 1984 to 1985, returned to power through the democratic elections in 2015 and was re -elected in 2019.
