CCL: Govt assures Bayelsa Queens of maximum support

The State Government of Yenogoa (Core Reporter) Bayelsa says that Bayelsa will give to Queens any support necessary to ensure that the club becomes the first team in Nigeria to lift the Caf Women’s Champions League.

The deputy governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, gave the certainty of a meeting with players, coaches and team management after their heroic performance in the Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL in Ikenne, in the state of Ogun.

He observed that he was happy with the team’s dexterity show during the regular season that saw them unbeaten to their triumph at the Super Six, claiming that their victory was the result of their determination and hard work.

Senator Ewhrudjakpo assured the team that the government would have done everything possible to ensure that girls conquer Africa, having won the trophy of the BAFu area in Cote d’Ivoire in 2022, urging them not to rest on their oars.

While congratulating the team for their brilliant release throughout the season, the deputy governor said that the last two editions of the competition have been a statement that Bayelsa Queens is the best team of the nation.

According to him, the administration of prosperity remains engaged in the use of sport as a tool to control crime and crime and will continue to invest in the development of sport to enhance young people.

He directed the commissioner for the development of sport, dr. Daniel Igali to institutionalize the prize for the best player for both Bayelsa United and Bayelsa Queens at the end of each season, saying that the initiative would have pushed the players to give the best.

Senator Ewhrudjakpo announced a reward in cash of one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) to the most precious player of the season, Doshima Tarnum, while Alaba Olabiyi received the prize for a better striker with fifty thousand naira (N50.000).

Jennifer Oliver got the best defender, the best goalkeeper of Monle Omini, Vera Samuel smiled at home with the prize for the best teammate and Arit Itu, like the funniest teammate, who received fifty thousand naira (N50.000) each.

He said: “I want to praise you for your determination and domain, without a doubt when people correspond to their determination with the effort that translates into success. This is what you have shown.

“If you do not go home as a champion of the women of the CAF, it is because you do not want to go back with it, because there is nothing that would not make you home with it. So put your combat spirit, tenacity and determination to reach it.

In an observation, the commissioner for sports development, dr. Daniel Igali, who thanked the deputy governor for honoring Bayelsa Queens, equaled the girls for the victory, urging them to concentrate and be worthy of the country’s ambassadors.

Even speaking, the president of Bayelsa Queens, the shepherd Robin Arreala, assured Bayelsans that the “prosperity girls” would have given a good representation in the Caf Women’s Champions League, adding that the preparation for the Wafu area has already started.
