FIFA has officially announced Chelsea as the ‘First’ Club World Cup champion after his victory in New Jersey on Sunday night.
Chelsea defeated the winners of the Champions League and the favorites for the Club World Cup, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on Sunday night thanks to an orthopedic device of Cole Palmer, who also provided assistance for the new signing of Joao Pedro for the third goal.
It was a surprising result, but an emphatic victory at night, with Chelsea now taking home the new trophy, as well as a cash prize.
However, its success has apparently had an impact beyond that match, with the previous World Cup winners now known as ‘FIFA Intercontinental Champions’.

As such, although Liverpool’s tastes, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona are no longer world champions.
The competition was played for the first time in 2000 as the World Club Championship, before returning in 2005, and was played annually until 2023, before adopting its current form.
This summer’s competition saw him expanded to 32 teams for the first time, since he had previously fought between only six (2020) and eight (2000).
Four English teams had won the Club World Cup before the Second Crown of Chelsea on Sunday, although now they will be recorded as titles of FIFA intercontinental champions.
Now, according to Daily Mail, FIFA seemed to confirm the news on Sunday night, since they shared a photo of Chelsea’s social networks raising the trophy with the title: “The first FIFA CWC champions.”
While City won the original competition in 2023, Liverpool lifted it in 2019 and United in 2008. Chelsea had also earned it previously in 2021.
Real Madrid won it most of the time with five, more recently in 2022, while Barcelona won four times, and Chelsea, the Corinthians and Bayern Munich twice.
