Congress officials all progressive (APC) of the Gayam electoral Ward of the local government area of Lafia, Aliyu Bello, the President of the State of the Party, have suspended for alleged anti-Party activities.
Ibrahim Iliyasu, president of the EPC Gayam Ward, announced the suspension of the President of the State Party during a press conference on Tuesday in Lafia.
The president, who read the suspension later signed by himself and 13 other leaders of departments, said that the decision followed an investigation into the complaints by the members of the department on the president’s anti-play activities.
“We have credible evidence and relationships that has opened and made a campaign openly for a member of another political party contrary to Article 21, paragraph 1, (11), (VII) of the Constitution of the party,” he said.
Iliyasu observed that the action of the President of State had caused embarrassment for the party and had undermined the credibility of the effort among its members.
“We decided to suspend yourself with immediate effect in line with the powers acquired in us as a rione manager pursuant to article 21, paragraph 21, (i), (III) of the establishment of our party and that he had consulted widely with the parties concerned within the department,” he said.
He also stated that the decision would be communicated to the manager of the local government area of Los Angeles, the state executive committee and the national work committee for ratification and to further necessary actions.
Therefore, the president of the APC urged to refrain from parading as a member or party official waiting for the conclusion of the trial.
In the meantime, Douglas Otaru, the secretary of the party advertising of the party, had issued a statement on behalf of the state committees of the state, raising alarm on an alleged plan by an aspiring to the governor to remove Aliyu beautiful as state president of the party.
Otaru stressed that the officials of the party department was missing from the Constitutional Authority to approve a vote of trust, suspend or expel a member of the party executive committee.
Therefore, he warned that the party would not hesitate to take disciplinary actions against any party member found in the plan to remove the President of State.
