Fuel tanker crushes six people to death in Ibadan

A petrol tanker on Tuesday killed at least six people along Beere/Agodi Road in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Six tricycles or known as “Keke” were also damaged by the truck.

An eyewitness told reporters that the truck driver lost control of his vehicle at the Beere end of the road and hit the tricycle.

He said: “The car hit two tricycles in Beere, killing two of their occupants before heading down Oje Market Road, ultimately killing four other people.”

However, another eyewitness who was a motorcyclist said the death toll was more than six people.

He added that several unidentified bodies had previously been put in body bags.
