The Delta state government has reviewed the clothing code for workers to uphold politeness in the state civil service.
In a statement posted on the official X grip on Thursday, the government said the move was to strengthen discipline and politeness among public officials in the state.
In the new settings, men at level 13 and above are expected to emerge in a complete lawsuit, except for uniformed officers.
Officers at class 07 to 12 are required to wear clothes or trousers with shirts and ties, while administrative officers must wear a suit.
“Workers at class 01 to 06 are also expected to comply with, except the driver and factory operator that must appear in uniforms or trousers and shirts.
“Traditional clothes, including senator suit, kaftan, or original shirt with trousers and hats, will only be allowed on Friday and special events.
“Female officers at level 13 and above are asked to appear in trousers settings, skirt suits, or company dresses under the knee, with trousers are allowed only as part of a suit. Those who are at the class 07 to 12 levels can also wear a dress under the knee with arms, or skirt with a blouse.

“Female officers at the class 01 to 06 are expected to follow the same standards. Traditional clothing such as Buba and Wrapper, African print dresses, and other cultural clothing are only permitted on Friday and special events, as long as they include the right arm,” the statement said.
The government also banned resource control, daddy hats, and dense beards at work.
Also prohibited is a sleeveless dress or spaghetti-strap, provocative exposure, braided or colored hair, long eyelashes, and artificial nails among female officers.
“Senior civil servants are expected to lead by giving examples in projecting the right to dress culture, with sanctions that will be applied under public service regulations No. 04314 to every officer who appears in inappropriate or disrespectful clothes.
“The head of the department has been directed to uphold strict compliance with revised dress code. Circular warns that every officer found in the violation can be sent home to change or face harder sanctions.
“The permanent secretary and the head of the extra-minister department are also given a mandate to ensure broad publicity and compliance in all ministries and institutions,” the statement added.
