Employee in court for alleged theft of N930,000 from employer

A 41-year-old man, Tunde Lakinsoku, on Thursday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing N930,000 from his employer.

Lakinsoku, whose address was not disclosed, is on trial for theft.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The public prosecutor, Insp Olalekan Adegbite, told the court that the accused committed the offense on April 15, at about 2pm at Akala Express, Ibadan.

Adegbite said the accused stole the sum of N930,000 belonging to a complainant, Omobola Abiodun.

He said the accused was caught and handed over to the police.

The offense contravenes the provisions of section 390(9) of the Oyo State Criminal Law, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Kausarat Ayofe, granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties of the same sum.

He adjourned the case to July 22 for mention.
