Ex-Nimasa Dg, Jamoh said El-Rufai Members of the APC Key despite the involvement of the opposition coalition

A former Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (Nimasa), Dr. Bashir Jamoh, on Thursday refused a report on the release of the former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, from the Congress of all Progressive (APC).

Jamoh, a leading APC chief in the state of Kaduna, spoke with a journalist in Kaduna after a grassroots tour in eight regions of the local government in the North Kaduna Senatorial District on Thursday.

He insisted that the former governor remains a commitment member of APC.

Former Head of Nimasa said the visit was aimed at strengthening the party structure and mobilizing support for the President of Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani ahead of the August 16 election and the 2027 General Election.

El-Rufai discovered APC for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in March due to dissatisfaction with the Tinubu government.

Since then he is in line with members of the other opposition coalition led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to adopt the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the next general election.

Jamoh said: “As far as I know, Nasir El-Rufai’s night is still with APC.

“We have not reached the point where we will say goodbye to him. Forget politics when we need his advice, we consult with him, and he always contributes without hesitation.”

He stressed that El-Rufai remains a valuable asset for the party and given its contribution since the years of party formation.

“You cannot deny your child for eight years. He ruled Kaduna for eight years under the APC and played an important role in the merger that formed the party,” he added.

In the former governor’s association with ADC, Jamoh called for patience.

“You do not mention the name of the child until there is a successful labor. Let’s wait and see how the ADC process is revealed who appears as a leader, who is the presidential candidate, and what the structure is like,” he concluded.
