Former Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Alhaji Mohammed Bagana, on Monday rejected claims of the existence of factions in the party.
He also rejected reports of litigation over APM’s leadership.
Bagana, in a statement in Abuja, said no case had been filed before the Supreme Court or any court in the country regarding the dispute in the party.
According to him, the party remains united nationally.
The former BoT chairman welcomed the defection of Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed and his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde, and their supporters to the APM.
He said the entry of the governors marked significant progress towards sustainable democracy and national development, adding that it would strengthen the party’s position as a credible platform.

Bagana also stated that the governors’ defections had changed Nigeria’s political landscape, placing the APM in a strong position for future elections and effective democratic governance.
He alleged that some anti-democratic forces, unsettled by the growing strength of the APM, were spreading lies about non-existent factions to destabilize the party.
The former chairman of the MWA described the report from a faction he allegedly led as false and mischievous, and emphasized that the report was orchestrated by people he described as reactionary elements opposed to democratic progress.
He said his past disputes with APM National Chairman, Dr. Yusuf Dantalle, has been resolved amicably without giving rise to any dispute or litigation.
Bagana also rejected claims by factional spokespeople who claimed to reject the governor’s defection, saying he had not authorized such statements or appointed any spokespeople.
He urged Nigerians to ignore the behavior of those he described as fake news peddlers who seek to undermine new members and destabilize the APM.
