Former police officer shouted at the N3M Pantry Severance Package after 35 years of service (video)

A retired police supervisor, has triggered a new round of controversy over the bad treatment imposed on civil servants in the country after retirement from the service.

The unnamed police officer rejected ₦ 3 million which was trivial because of the benefits of his pension after 35 years of service to meritorious to the nation.

The man, who made a claim in a video that had been circulating during the weekend, wondered how he could spend 35 years serving the nation wholeheartedly only to be given a trivial amount as a benefit of pension and ask the police inspector to do something about it.

In the emotional video, the ex-police officer, who said he retired on October 1, 2023, voiced out his frustration, asserting that the nigerian police pension board recently informed him that n3 million had been approved as his total retirement payout with n1 million in arrears from October 2023 to date, and N2 Million as his full entitlement, and asked in Bewilderment:
“For what? I serve my country wholeheartedly.”

The retired officer who seemed angry swore that even though he was not a rich man, he would refuse payment and take battles to his own hands.

“I laughed – Nigerian police. I really did it. I retired police supervisors. I retired from Nigerian police on October 1, 2023. Since then, nothing has been paid to me,” he said, when trying to cover up his anger.

“Only two weeks ago, they called me and said they would pay me three million Naira. For what? They said it was my retirement.

“Lo and see, three million naira is not even my full retirement. One million Naira should be in arrears since I retired until now. The two million naira remaining is my right.

“I have not been able to serve this country for 35 years well and paid only two million naira. Devil is a liar. Please, let the Inspector General of the Police hear this.

“I am a police supervisor before retirement. Even if your brother is a police supervisor today and he was told to go home with two million naira as a retirement benefit – take advantage of yourself if it is fair.

“I did not accept the money. I will not collect the money. Let my service be in vain if that’s what they want. I don’t care. I don’t have money, but two million Naira will not change my life. It won’t make me rich. Never.

“I am not a rich person. I hope that after serving this country, I will have something reasonable to take home. But after retiring, all police can give me two million naira?

“It’s really embarrassing. And I say, I serve – yes, I serve my homeland. I serve my country wholeheartedly. And now my profit is two million naira? Please, I want the whole world to hear this. Two million nirara for police supervisors?

“I want the federal government to do something about this. Even if the federal government will not act, I will fight in my own way. I will fight it in the way I want. No problem. But let the Federal government take action.

“How can I serve the Nigerian police – put my life, my commitment, my energy, everything for this country – and after 35 years, all I got was two million naira? For what? What for what? For what? Come on.”

“You will learn. You will learn in a difficult way.”
