Former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Mr Victor Ochei, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The development ended nearly a decade of Ochei’s membership in the ruling party.
The former chairman announced his resignation from the APC in a letter addressed to the chairman of the party in Ward 4, Onicha Olona, in Aniocha Local Government Area of the state.
He stated that the resignation came after ‘deep reflection and wide consultation’ with political allies, supporters and partners across Delta State.
Ochei wrote: “I joined the APC in 2016 with sincerity, confidence and belief in the party’s vision for national progress and inclusive governance.”
“Together, with many committed party supporters, we expanded the party’s reach, deepened its structure, mobilized support across communities, and worked tirelessly.
“My decision is inspired by my enduring commitment to service, progress, and the political future I envision for our people.
