[Press Release] The Rivers State Governor, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara (KSC), has charged his new Commissioners to be ready to give their best in the service of the State.

Governor Fubara gave the commission on Wednesday at Government House Port Harcourt, during the swearing-in ceremony of the first batch of five Commissioners who had carried out the screening exercise at the Rivers State House of Assembly on Monday.

The governor said that after passing one of the most rigorous screening exercises, the commissioners were already deemed eligible and ready to serve as members of the State Executive Council. The governor said that during the screening, lawmakers outlined their duties and responsibilities, adding that he expects nothing but the best from them.

“I believe that by going through one of the most rigorous screenings, it is enough to say that those of you who have succeeded, are fit and ready to deliver results to our dear state.
So there are no further costs. The projection was the charge. So I wish you the best because I expect nothing less than the best from you,” Fubara said.

The five Commissioners-designate who were sworn in at the ceremony included Tonye Bellgam, Professor Temple Nwofor, Dr Peters Nwagor, Lekue Kenneth and Sir Amairigha Edward Hart. The Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Office were administered upon them by His Excellency David D. Ihua-Maduenyi, the Chief Registrar of the Rivers State High Court.
