Gov Alia: because the Coasters did not face the traditional sovereigns, the parties interested during the visit to Benue – Thage

Governor Hyacinth alia identified temporal constraints as one of the reasons why the head of the army staff, the lieutenant general Olufemi Oluyede, was unable to face some interested parties, including traditional sovereigns, during his visit to Benue’s state.

He explained that his encounter behind closed doors with the head of the army was to listen and short stakeholders, observing that the CAS will go to the field to see things alone.

According to the governor, the CAS promised hope for Benue’s state by intensifying a certain support for the security of the people and praised him to have commensurate with the government and the people of the State for recent attacks in the areas of the local government of Gwer West and APA.

The governor, therefore, invited Benue the people to play their role in completing the efforts with the federal government to ensure that Benue has no further attacks on his communities.

He expressed his condolences to the two advice of the local government under attack, who caused many lives and thanked the traditional sovereigns for responding to his invitation in a short time.

It was collected that after the meeting behind closed doors, the head of the army staff went to Naka in the communities of Gwer West and APA for an evaluation on the spot of the situation.

On Sunday the armed shepherds invaded and attached some communities to Gwer West and APA, during which several inhabitants were killed gruesome while others reported injuries, with motorcycles, food things and sacked shops.

The figures of the victims must yet be ascertained; However, in Gwer West, the leaders of the community listed over twenty deaths, while the mass burial at the APA community were presumably buried about thirty -six bodies.

The manager of the Police Public Relations, Benue State Command, DCP Udeme Edet, was unable to provide the exact data, stating that the police commissioner deployed the tactical team in the woe areas to identify the invading routes used to cross Benue for the block.
