Gunmen reportedly kidnapped 18 bus passengers along the Makurdi-Otukpo road in Benue State on Wednesday evening.
The victims, including candidates for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), were traveling on a Benue Links bus from Makurdi to Otukpo when the vehicle was attacked by thugs.

An eyewitness told reporters on Thursday that the bus driver and one of the passengers escaped from the kidnappers.
However, the state police command had not confirmed the incident at the time of filing this report.
