Former Nigeria senior national team coach Gernot Rohr has sounded a warning note to new Nigeria senior national team coach Bruno Labbadia ahead of their AFCON 2025 clash in Uyo, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Rohr, who was in charge of the Super Eagles for almost seven years, will lead the Republic of Benin on the 7th against Nigeria hoping to record another victory like the one they achieved in the World Cup qualifiers, which was their first ever win over Nigeria.

Labbadia, who will have his baptism of fire in the Super Eagles dugout, is a fellow German like Rohr, and his compatriot, in praising his appointment, warned him of what awaits him when he leads the Super Eagles.

The Super Eagles will face Rwanda away from home on September 10, three days after their match against Benin Republic at home.

“He is a very good coach, I hope the NFF and the Nigerian fans treat him well. He has a lot of experience in the Bundesliga, I hope he quickly finds his way in Nigeria, which is a different environment.”

“I wish him all the best, but not against us (Benin),” he said.
