The new midfielder of the Super Eagles, Anthony Dennis, on the Turkish side of Gotzepe, said he had to verify twice if it was his name after making the list of players for the World Cup classifying games against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, respectively, Owngoalnigeria.com can reveal exclusively.

Dennis, 20, moved to Türkiye in 2023 of the HB Academy of the ABUJA headquarters that indicates the Gotzepe U19. He did not stay for a long time in the youth configuration before reaching the first team the same season.

“I had to verify to be sure, because it is very shocking to be true. It really shows that people are looking and that you have to be at your best time every time you step on the field,” he told Owngoalnigeria.com.

“It is the dream of each player to play for his national team and I cannot say anything different. My gratitude is for the coach for considering myself on this list and I will continue working hard, because this is a big step in my young career,” he concluded.
