The joint committee for admission and enrollment (Jamb) declared that he arrested 27 imitators in the unified unified tertiary registration exam (Utme).
Jamb observed that the 27 imitators arrested had been delivered to the police for immediate judicial proceedings.
The Council also announced that it has deleted four CBT tests based on computers, which had not been able to satisfy the rigorous technical standards required for the UTME.
Jamb has appointed the eliminated centers as associated adventures, behind Sheshe Supermarket, off Hadejia Road, Kano, Kano State; Saadatu Rimi College of Education, Zaria Road, Naibawa, Kano, State of Kano; Penta M&A Technical Services Ltd, Center 2, 96 km Sokoto-Jega Road, Tambuwal and Penta M&A Technical Services Ltd, Center 1, 96 km Sokoto-Jega Road, Tambuwal.
“While Jamb praises the 883 centers that have demonstrated exceptional performance, it unequivocally warns that any center that has failed ethical or technical standards, regardless of the property, will be on the black list,” Jamb said on Friday from his spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin.
“The candidates who previously had to take the exams in the eliminated centers are invited to urgently reprint their notification of the exam to access their new centers and reprogram their dates.
“We regret any inconvenience that this can cause, but we will not tolerate the apologies from the candidates who cannot reprint their slip to get their new programs,” he said.
The Council revealed that “starting from Friday 25 April 2025, over 900,000 candidates successfully completed the UTME on 2,083,600 registered for the 2025 examination”.
Meanwhile, Jamb said he was notified of unauthorized restrictions imposed on candidates who wear hijab in his university center of Caleb.
He said that “a rapid action was undertaken to face this unilateral decision, which was categorically condemned by the university vice-changing.
βThis wrong action was the result of a too zealous security officer.
“We extend our sincere apologies to the affected candidates and praise the leadership of both the center and the university for their rapid intervention, which has assured that no candidate has undergone undue disadvantages.” I
