Lagos Task Force Seizes Truck Loaded with Illegal Styrofoam Packaging

The Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) on Friday intercepted a truck loaded with styrofoam wrappers in the Ojuelegba area of the state.

The state government in January banned the use and distribution of Styrofoam and other single-use plastics across the state as they pose a threat to the environment.

Styrofoam is a raw material for producing disposable plates used in restaurants.

LAGESC Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ajayi Lukman, confirmed this in a statement in Ikeja.
