Love goes wrong, when the Corporal shoots himself after killing the policewoman’s boyfriend

Police corporal Amos Yusuf is reported to have shot dead his colleague, Female Corporal Grace Abraham, with whom he was said to have had an affair, before turning his AK-47 rifle on himself and committing suicide.

According to sources in the know, the incident reportedly occurred around 9pm on October 23, 2026, when Corporal Amos, who was assigned as the station’s night guard, was said to have returned to duty around 6pm before disappearing from his post a few hours later.

He allegedly went to Grace’s residence, where he shot her several times before turning the gun on himself.

The account claims that Grace suffered gunshot wounds to the shoulder, lower abdomen and legs before the corporal allegedly shot himself.

The motive behind the incident is not yet officially known.

However, circulating accounts linked the tragedy to an alleged rift in the relationship between the two officers.

According to the account, the officers had been in a romantic relationship for several years but reportedly began experiencing trust issues and accusations of infidelity in recent months.

It was further alleged that their dispute had escalated into physical confrontation and threats, which at some point prompted intervention by divisional authorities.

The account claims that the two officers were previously detained by the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO), who allegedly advised them to end their relationship to prevent further conflict.

“He reported for duty around 6pm and disappeared a few hours later and went straight to Grace’s residence and killed her before killing himself too.

“The two junior police officers had been dating for several years, but a few months ago, they started having trust issues and accusations of cheating. There were physical fights and threats until they were detained by the DCO who then advised them to end their relationship for the sake of peace,” said a source.

“But yesterday, Corporal Amos decided to end it all, by firing three bullets straight at Corporal Grace, one in his shoulder, the second in his lower abdomen, and the last in his leg before shooting himself. May their souls rest in peace,” the source added.

The circumstances surrounding the death could not be verified, but Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, Afusat Saliu, said he was aware of the incident, and investigations were ongoing.

The two officers are said to be from Kogi State. Both joined the Nigerian Police the same year; trained at the same place; collapsed the same year; and posted to the same place. One account stated that they were promoted at the same time; both live in the same place; they fall in love and die at the same time, with the same weapons.
