A commercial sex worker is lucky to have survived after workers at a hotel in Abuja saved her from being killed for ritual purposes by the man who took her there.
According to a video uploaded on X on Thursday, the incident occurred inside the Top View Hotel located in Wuse area, FCT.
Witnesses reported that the woman, who identified herself as Olivia, was taken to the hotel by a man identified only as Alex on the pretext of staying with him. However, one night, the man tied her up and was about to kill her when hotel staff heard her cries for help and managed to get into the room and rescue her.
A narration accompanying the video says:
“A man’s plan to use a woman for a ritual was foiled after the woman’s screams alerted hotel staff to what was happening at a hotel in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
“Hotel employees, who heard screams from one of the rooms, rushed in and found a woman completely naked and tied up with duct tape.
“Her hands and feet were tied with tape. The tape was also seen around the woman’s neck.

“Hotel staff were heard saying that it was the woman’s screams that saved her. They were heard scolding the woman for going with the man. They also scolded the man for trying to use the woman for a ritual.
“They ordered the man to cut the ribbon he had used to tie the woman’s feet, while the woman used her dress to cover her naked body.”
Meanwhile, the FCT Police Command has confirmed the incident and the arrest of the suspect by NSCDC operatives.
Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, SP Josephine Adeh, in a written statement to X on Thursday night, said:
“The FCT police command is aware of a video footage circulating of a woman being criminally locked up in Top View hotel, Wuse, Abuja on September 17, 2024 by a suspected internet fraudster allegedly for a money-making ritual.
“Investigation results show that the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has detained the suspect and is yet to hand him over to the police for further investigation.
“The FCT police command for all intents and purposes is waiting for the NSCDC to hand over all parties for the commencement of a thorough and confidential investigation.
Further developments will be communicated in due course.”
