Man dies after fasting for 19 days in Lagos

A 58-year-old man died while on a spiritual fast in Lagos State.

State police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the news to reporters on Tuesday in Lagos.

He said the man died around 6:00 a.m., Monday in the Alagbado area of ​​the state.

Hundeyin said: “The deceased’s younger brother reported the incident at the Alagbado Police Division at around 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

“He said his brother died while allegedly undergoing a 19-day dry fast.

“There is no suspicion of a crime, the family demands that the body be taken immediately for burial.”
