The Minister of Niger Delta Development, Hon. Engr. Abubakar Momoh have embarked on courtesy visits to some prominent leaders in Niger Delta, with a view to navigating his role as the Minister of Niger Delta Development for effective running of the Ministry, in line with President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a statement released Wednesday in Abuja, by his media adviser, John Mayaki, said the minister, who played host to the former Nigeria’s President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in his Abuja residence, shared valuable and insightful discussions as well as deliberated on strategies to combat the issue of stolen crude, enhance infrastructure and generate employment opportunities for the teeming youths of Niger Delta.
The former President was accompanied by his former Chief of staff and former deputy governor of Edo State, Chief Mike Oghiadohme.
Hon. Engr. Momoh commended the former President Jonathan for sharing his wealth of experience aimed towards the betterment of the Niger Delta region.
He also appreciated the wisdom and generosity of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan for taking the time to share his insights and guidance during the meeting, saying “His wealth of experience and dedication to the betterment of Nigeria, especially in the Niger Delta region, is truly commendable.”
Engr. Momoh commended President GoodLuck Jonathan for his support and mentorship as they work together to address critical challenges and advance the development of the nation.
The statement added that Engr. Momoh also held a meeting with Alhaji Asari-Dokubo, a prominent figure among the Ijaw ethnic group.
“The primary topics of discussion included regional peace and strategies to combat crude theft, which has been detrimental to Nigeria’s oil production.
“Alhaji Asari-Dokubo, who holds significant influence as a political figure, provided valuable advice and expressed his commitment to supporting the Minister in his role as the Minister of Niger Delta Development.”
Engr. Momoh expressed sincere gratitude to his gracious host for his warm welcome and valuable insights during the meeting.
According to the Minister, his support and advice are greatly appreciated as we work towards a better future for the Niger Delta region and by extension, the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In the meeting, Asari Dokubo described the Minister as “a very holistic personality that is committed to delivering on bridging the gap of infrastructural deficits in the Niger Delta.”
He also said Niger Deltans has to support the Minister to ensure that he delivers and to stop the enemies of the Niger Delta Region from causing obstructions that will derail the development plan of the Ministry of Niger Delta Development under the leadership of Alhaji Momoh.
