NGX: Investors make N353M as Oando, Chellarms, Transcorp Push Up Stock Market

Investors at the Nigerian equity market obtained N353 million at the close of trade on Tuesday.

This follows the surge in stock prices such as Transcorp Nigeria (Transcorp), Chellarams PLC and Oando PLC. Among others on the trading floor.

The Benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) increased to 108,762.61 points from 108,261.47 points recorded on the previous day.

After five hours of trading in the capital market, equity capitalization increased N353 million to N68.3 billion from the N68,004 billion posted by Bourse on Monday.

The extent of the positive market because 40 shares advanced, 24 shares declined, and 53 shares remained unchanged in 14,916 agreements.

Transcorp Nigeria, Chellarams Plc

and Oando PLC leads other growth with 10%, 10% and 9.99% growth respectively in prices closed at N11.44, N49.50 and N46.25 from N10.40, N45.00 and N42.05 per previous share.

Haldane McCall, Academy Press, and UPDC PLC led other price determination with 9.85%, 7.33% and 6.25% stock price decline to be closed at N4.21, N4.30 and N3.00 from N4.67, N4.64 and N3.20 per previous share.

In the volume index, Tantalizers PLC led trade with 57 million shares in 181 agreements, followed by access holdings PLC which was traded 36 million shares in 888 offers.

Guarantee Trust Holding (GTCO) trading 31 million shares in 477 offers.

On the value index, guarantee trust holding (GTCO) shares traded

N2.1 billion in 477 agreements, followed by the Nigerian beer factory that trades equity worth N1 billion in 277 agreements.

Zenith Bank PLC trades shares worth N999 million in 759 agreements.
