Nigeria Govt congratulates the Zimbabwe for its anniversary

The honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar extends his warm congratulations to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Hon. Prof. Amon Murwira on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the independence of his country.

The achievement of independence on April 18, 1980 by the people of the Zimbabwe remains a remarkable result, keeping in mind the historical role and significant contributions that were made by the Nigerian people and the government during the liberation struggle that in the end culminated in the victory.

This historical milestone, therefore, marks the resilience, courage and firm determination of the people of Zimbabwe in their search for freedom, self -determination and national development. Nigeria praises Zimbabwe for its remarkable progress over the years and reaffirms our commitment to strengthen the long -standing bonds and cooperation between our two nations.

“As companions members of the African Union and other reliable multilateral organizations, Nigeria and Zimbabwe share a common vision for peace, prosperity and continental integration. We remain still in our support for the socio-economic development of Zimbabwe and we can’t wait to deepen bilateral ties in the areas of mutual interest, including trade, agriculture and regional security.

“We therefore wish the government and people of Zimbabwe Pace, prosperity and continuous friendship and support of Nigeria”.
