The CEO of the First Holdings Company Plc group, Wale Oyedeji, warned that the economic and social problems of Nigeria will persist unless leader in business and public service do not adopt integrity as a guiding principle.
Speaking on Wednesday at the opening ceremony of the Adventist Church of the seventh day, Western Nigeria Union Conference Adventist Men’s Organization (I love) 2025 Convention, held at Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, Oyedeji has challenged the Nigerian men to become “Modern Josephs” supporting the truth, humility and responsibility even under the intense pressure.
Keeping a lesson entitled “integrity in the markets: be a Joseph”, the bank leader stressed that integrity was not only a moral ideal, but a strategic advantage that gains trust, guarantees a lasting success, builds the inheritance and attracts a divine favor.
“In the work you do now, and in the one in which you could be promoted, if you do your priority to God, you will be able to live a life of integrity,” he told The Gathering. “Integrity will cost you something, but it will never cost you everything.”
He identified the greatest threats to integrity in Nigeria as a pressure to meet non -realistic expectations, fear of losing and rooting the rules of the sector that encourage compromise.
However, he insisted that these challenges were not different from the tests that Joseph faced and passed in ancient Egypt.
“The world is waiting for the leader of the market that are reliable, of principle and fearful of God,” said Oyedeji. “If Nigerian men go up to the standard one, they will not only transform their lives, but will also help build a stronger economy.”
In a related presentation, the CEO of the Meristem Securities Limited group, Sulaiman Adedokun, represented by Dr. Femi Oladele, immediately participated in diversifying their income flows and planning financial independence in retirement to avoid becoming dependent on others.
Agribusiness has also taken the center of the scene of the event as CEO of Mitelo Farms Limited, Dr. Adefunmilola Williams-Daiudu and the CEO of Agbeyewa Farms, Olaoluwasei Aiyeleso, encouraged men to invest in agriculture as a reliable path for the creation of Wealth, the generation of work and the excursions.
They noted that with opportunities for the addition of value and export, agriculture remains one of the few sectors with the ability to support long -term economic growth of Nigeria.
The Amo 2025 Convention continues with lessons, seminars and networking sessions aimed at providing men with moral and economic tools to have a lasting social impact.
Previously in a welcome speech, the director, the organization of the agiing men, the western Nigeria Union Conference, the elderly Olayinka Horsemed said that the convention aimed to enhance the men of the Church spiritually and economically to exploit their gifts and talents donated by God and use them to add value to their lives and to have an impact on the life of others around them.
