The federal government has announced that they have met the 2025 oil and gas sector revenue benchmarks, marking the first time in years the target has been achieved.
The disclosure was carried out by a spokesman for the Chief Executive of the Inland Federal Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Dare AdekanMBI, which links development for sustainable peace in the Delta Niger region.
He praised the achievements of the efforts of security institutions and private companies, including the Nigerian Limited pipeline infrastructure (PINL), which was assigned to protect government investment in this sector.
AdeanMBI spoke at a meeting of the August Edition Monthly Stakeholders Review with the Trans Niger Pipeline host community in Rivers, Abia, and the State of IMO, which was held at Port Harcourt on Friday.
Also speaking at the event, general managers, public relations and stakeholders in Pinl, Dr. AKPOS Meze, confirmed that the company recorded zero violations in the past month, a factor that according to him has contributed significantly to the increase in national crude oil production.
According to Meze, the milestone reflects the power of collaboration among stakeholders, which have been encouraged by the implementation of strategies that are proven consistently such as safety steps for supervision personnel, fast salary payments, and timely resolution of disputes within the host community.
“This joint effort has resulted in a reduction in stop time and increased trust,” he said.

Meze highlighted some of the achievements of this new company, including intervention on the oil spill site in Yorla, the KPEAN community, the Khana Regional Government area, and the demolition of illegal bunkering sites in the Umubule and Oyigbo community, both at Rivers State. He also used the opportunity to renew the stakeholders about the Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative (CSR) for youth and women in the host community.
Meze urged stakeholders to continue to support company operations.
“We reiterate our unwavering commitment to sustainable energy security, in harmony with the new hope agenda from the federal government. We have a shared responsibility to save our economy from further bleeding, and achieving this goal requires that all hands remain in the deck,” he said.
In his remarks, Head of Field Operations, East Corridor, Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) Nigeria Monitoring Office, Engr. Akponine Omojevwe, calling for a stronger collaboration between the host and Pinl community.
He praised Pinl’s efforts, especially in offering scholarships to the host community and providing developmental support, but emphasizing the need for community members to protect, rather than sabotaged, equipment and operations of the company.
“Pinl has worked harder to ensure their operating area benefits from their activities. Let’s make sure that in the task of securing the pipeline, we support them and do not destroy their equipment,” Omojevwe urged.
