A well-travelled and vastly exposed midfielder, Ganiyu Abolore Mojeed, who previously played in Egypt and United Arab Enirates, has confessed that he underrated the quality of Nigeriaโs Nationwide League One (NLO).

Mojeed, who has also seen action in Benin Republic, is now the captain of Lagos-based Alim City FC, but his team is struggling to stay afloat in the third-tier division.
With Alim City suffering a 3-0 loss to AS Racines in their latest match on Friday, Mojeedโs side has managed to pick only four points from eight games and lie ninth in the 11-team table.
The clubโs skipper took a closer look at the Agege-based sideโs performance and admitted it has not been good enough, but reckoned it is due to their debut status in the league.
โWe have not been doing well,โ Mojeed began, โMaybe itโs because this is our first time in the league. I think it has affected us. We need more experience. Maybe in the coming season, weโll be better.โ
He then spoke about his individual strides and confessed that he is also struggling to keep pace with surprisingly high standards in the NLO.
Mojeed added: โPersonally, I think that I still have a lot to learn in this game. This is my first experience in the NLO. I have some experience generally in the game, but this is my first experience in the Nationwide League.
โI used to say it canโt be different from what I had been playing, but Iโve now seen the difference. I can see a lot of talent and a lot of challenges.
โHopefully, next season in the NLO, or maybe NNL, I will be better. Iโve played in the Egyptian League, UAE League and in Benin Republic. Anyone who watches me will know I have experience in the game.โ
Mojeed then pushed aside his personal thoughts, as he quickly ended with a word about his teamโs latest defeat, but declared philosophically: โRegardless of this result for the team, we thank God for that.โ
