Barau FC captain, Usman Maidubji, says his team is happy to stop Rangers International after both sides shared the spoils in a hotly contested match on matchday 33 of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.

Maliya Boys displayed a heroic performance at the Enugu Cathedral, Sunday, securing a vital spot in the ongoing 2025/26 NPFL season.

Speaking after the match, the skipper attributed the result to the hard work, dedication and commitment of the players, technical crew and management.

While describing their opponents as a difficult team, Maidubji explained that they followed the coach’s instructions and gave their all on the pitch.

He appreciated the many Barau fans and supporters who came in large numbers to support the team, assuring them that they will not disappoint them in the final phase of the matches.

According to him, “I’m happy to get a point against Rangers. We knew it wouldn’t be an easy match considering their position in the table. We gave everything from the start of the match until the final whistle.

“We played following the instructions of the coaches knowing full well that they are a good team that can hurt any opponent. Our compliments must be paid to our fans in Enugu who have stood by us and we assure them that we will not disappoint.”

Maliya Boys are tenth in the table after 33 matches with 43 points and will host Remo Stars on matchday 34 at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
