The Labor Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi, has asked President Bola Tinubu to stop making excuses, but instead provide solutions to the myriad of problems facing the country.

Obi called on those in leadership positions to offer real solutions, not just remind that others are also facing the same challenges, adding that it was disheartening to hear those in charge, tasked with addressing the problem, say that it is not just Nigerians who are struggling fight poverty. and starvation, instead of providing direction, guidance, solutions and reassurance in times of crisis.

He said, “The problems facing Nigeria are well known to all Nigerians,” he wrote.

“We are the poverty capital of the world, we are among the most insecure groups of people on earth, the most hungry, have the poorest quality of education and the highest number of out-of-school children, high infant mortality rates, corruption, unemployment, huge income gaps. the tallest. between poor and rich communities, high corruption perception index, infrastructure and health service challenges, and many more.

“It is disheartening to hear those in charge, tasked with addressing our problems, make statements such as ‘we are not the only ones fighting poverty and hunger.’

“I urge those in leadership positions to offer real solutions, not simply remind that others are facing similar challenges.

“We need a comprehensive approach to address our specific challenges, not generalizations that ignore our experiences. A true leader provides direction, guidance, solutions and certainty in times of crisis.

“This is the characteristic of visionary leadership and the characteristic of a nation that is advanced and advancing its development. They don’t just state the obvious but offer a roadmap for overcoming obstacles.

“Just as a pilot doesn’t just announce the presence of turbulence, they assure passengers that they will do everything possible to ensure a safe journey.
