Ogun government dismisses rumors of terrorist invasion

The Ogun State Government has rejected baseless reports of terrorist and criminal group invasion plans into the state.

The government assures citizens that the country remains safe and peaceful.

This assurance was conveyed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, Mr Kayode Akinmade, in a statement on Wednesday in Abeokuta.

He explained that available intelligence from security agencies indicated that Ogun remained peaceful and safe.

The governor appealed to residents not to be fooled by rumors designed to cause panic.

He noted that reports circulating on social media about impending attacks by murderous herdsmen, insurgents and other criminal elements were baseless.

He condemned attempts to use security incidents occurring elsewhere in the country to spread fear in Ogun State.
