Okoye shone as the Super Eagles drew in a friendly against Poland

Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye was brilliant as the Nigerian team drew 2-2 with World Cup-bound Poland in an international friendly on Wednesday night.

Okoye put on an impressive display, denying many of Poland’s stars, led by Ballon d’Or winner Robert Lewandowski.

The Nigerian team, led by Wilfred Ndidi under the management of Eric Chelle, controlled more of the ball overall, and showed a lot of confidence and competence.

The Super Eagles regained the lead when Paul Onuachu converted a penalty in the 77th minute after a VAR review revealed handball in the Poland 18-yard box.

The Eagles were close to achieving back-to-back wins against Poland, but with seconds remaining, Wisniewski fired a long-range volley past Okoye to force a draw.

Next up for the Eagles is a friendly against Portugal next Wednesday.
