Organizers of Big Brother Naija have announced that season 11 of Africa’s biggest reality show will premiere on Sunday, July 26, with a record-breaking grand prize of ₦160 million awaiting the eventual winner.
The announcement was made during a press conference on Wednesday, where MultiChoice revealed details of the new season, including the broadcast schedule, prize package, sponsors and voting process.
According to the organisers, the launch show will begin at 7pm on the Africa Magic Showcase and Africa Magic Family channels. The 24-hour live reality show will also air on DStv Channel 198 and GOtv Channel 49, while viewers will be able to stream every moment live on DStv Stream and GOtv Stream.
The new season is expected to feature a new lineup of contestants from diverse backgrounds who will compete in weekly tasks, nominations and public voting for the grand prize.
The record prize increases the competition
Season 11 comes with the biggest reward in the history of the franchise, as the winner will receive prizes worth ₦160 million.
The package includes £100 million in cash and a brand new SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle), making it the most valuable prize ever offered since the reality show debuted.
The increased prize is expected to increase competition between the housemates, who will spend weeks in Biggie’s house competing in challenges as they try to avoid eviction through public voting.
Organizers said more details about the season, including the identities of the housemates and new plot twists, will be revealed closer to the premiere.
MultiChoice promises bigger twists
Speaking during the media briefing, Executive Head, Content and Channels, West Africa, MultiChoice, Atinuke Babatunde, said Big Brother Naija has continued to redefine television entertainment across Africa through authentic storytelling and engaging content.
He said the program consistently delivered memorable moments that resonated with millions of viewers across the continent.
According to Babatunde, Season 11 will build on that legacy with new twists, bigger surprises and an exciting mix of contestants that will entertain viewers from opening night until the grand finale.
He added that audiences should expect compelling personalities, strategic gameplay and dramatic moments during the competition.

The organizers also announced a new lineup of corporate partners for the latest edition of the reality show.
betPawa Nigeria has been announced as the title sponsor for Season 11, while Guinness Nigeria Plc will serve as the gold sponsor and Minimie Nigeria has been named as an associate sponsor.
Speaking on the partnership, betPawa Head of Local Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility Borah Omary Ndanyungu said the company is proud to partner with one of Africa’s most popular entertainment brands.
He noted that the partnership aligns with betPawa’s commitment to creating memorable experiences for fans and promised exciting engagement opportunities and rewards throughout the season.
Babatunde welcomed the sponsors, saying their continued support reflects the strength, popularity and commercial value of the Big Brother Naija platform.
Ebuka returns as a guest
Organizers have confirmed that media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu will return as host of the reality show.
Ebuka, who has led the program since its relaunch, will once again guide viewers through the live launch, weekly eviction shows and other major events throughout the season.
His return is expected to provide continuity for the franchise, having become one of the most recognizable faces of the program over the years.
The reality show continues to have a cultural impact
Since its return in 2017, Big Brother Naija has grown from a television program to one of Africa’s biggest entertainment brands.
The reality show has produced numerous stars who have gone on to establish successful careers in acting, music, broadcasting, entrepreneurship, influencing and other areas of the creative industry.
It has also generated significant economic opportunities through sponsorships, advertising, content creation and employment in the Nigerian entertainment ecosystem.
Viewers will be able to participate in the competition by voting via the MyDStv and MyGOtv self-service applications, while eligible subscribers will be able to enjoy additional voting benefits by upgrading their subscription packages.
