National Coordinator of National Brand Development and Made in Nigeria Special Projects Office, George Nwabueze, has spoken out on accusations that his office is a ‘fake’ Federal Government agency.
To prove his point, Nwabueze has released a letter of appointment purportedly issued by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).

Tinubu also ordered the immediate suspension of three permanent secretaries allegedly linked to the operation of the fake agency and ordered the ICPC to conduct an investigation into the establishment and operation of the agency.
ICPC Chairman, Musa Aliyu, said the discovery was made as part of an investigation into the alleged activities of the fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) and other irregularities in government procedures.
Amid the controversy, Nwabueze shared his appointment letter in a post on his LinkedIn page on Saturday, with the document bearing the OSGF letterhead.
Dated 3 October 2025 with reference number OSGF/MIN/59310/11/205, the letter was signed by Nadungu Gagare who is the Permanent Secretary of the Office of Political and Economic Affairs.
The letter entitled, “Appointment as National Coordinator and Executive Director of the Made in Nigeria Project Office”, states, “I am directed to convey formally the approval of your appointment as National Coordinator/Executive Director of the Made in Nigeria Project Office under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
“This appointment comes after a careful evaluation of your commitment, contributions and capacity to carry out the mandate of the Office of Special Projects.
“His appointment is for a period of five years starting from July 2025 and can be extended.”
The letter listed Nwabueze’s duties as including overseeing the development of programs, projects and policies, as well as supervising regional and state coordinators.
It is also tasked with organizing exhibitions, trade fairs, economic summits and other promotional activities aimed at supporting economic development through domestic products and services.
According to the letter, the project will operate from “Temporary Office Space in Room B53, Ground Floor, within the OSGF Complex.”
He added that the appointment was “at the will of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation” and in line with the objectives of the Made in Nigeria initiative under the Renewed Hope agenda.
It is learned that Nwabueze also sent several letters to the state government asking them to nominate a state coordinator for the Made in Nigeria Project Office.
