Police arrest nurse in connection with woman’s death during buttock lift surgery

Police officers in Lagos have arrested a nurse over the death of a 36-year-old woman identified as Abiola in the Lekki area of ​​the state.

State police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday.

He said the victim’s driver reported the incident to the Moroccan Police Division.

Hundeyin said the driver reported that his employer, whom he had taken to a clinic in Lekki Phase 1 for a cosmetic procedure to enhance her body shape — specifically, a Brazilian Butt Lift, had died.

“When they arrived, the clinic owner ordered a nurse to give Abiola an injection. Moments later, chaos ensued as the woman lost consciousness and began gasping for breath.

“In dire need of help, the driver immediately rushed Abiola to another hospital in Lekki Phase 1, but he was confirmed dead by the staff on duty upon arrival at the hospital.

“Detectives from the command have visited the scene, collected evidence, examined and photographed the woman’s body and then taken her body to the morgue for an autopsy.”

“The nurse has been detained while investigations into the incident continue.”
