Police have denied claims of release of kidnapped Oyo students and teachers

The Oyo State Police Command has refuted claims on social media about the release of kidnapped pupils and teachers from Oriire Local Government Area of ​​the state.

Gunmen on May 15 kidnapped the victims in three schools in the state.

Spokesman of the state police command, Olayinka Ayanlade, made the clarification in a statement on Thursday in Ibadan.

Ayanlade described the claims as false, misleading and completely baseless.

“As of this release, there have been no such developments, and the public is advised to ignore the report in its entirety.

“The command wishes to assure the good people of Oyo state and the families of the victims that intensive and coordinated rescue operations continue.

“Security operatives worked tirelessly, deploying all available human and operational resources to ensure the safe rescue of the kidnapped students and teachers and their reunification with their families without injury,” he said.
