The Ebonyi State Police Command on Tuesday denied reports of bandit attacks in the state.
The command spokesperson Joshua Ukandu made the clarification in a statement on Tuesday in Abakiliki.
Ukandu dismissed alleged reports in a section of social media that Nguzu Edda Community in Edda local government area of Edda state was attacked by bandits and herdsmen.
He described the report as “false, misleading and capable of causing unnecessary panic among citizens.”
The statement read: “Officers acted quickly after receiving information about a viral video, in which a narrator alleged that bandits and herdsmen had entered the community.
