PSG beat Arsenal on penalties to win back-to-back Champions League titles

Paris Saint-Germain beat Arsenal on penalties in the final on Saturday night to win back-to-back Champions League titles.

After a 1-1 draw forced both sides to a penalty shootout, Gabriel missed Arsenal’s final penalty to give PSG victory.

Kai Havertz opened the scoring in the first half with a brilliant solo finish before Ousmane Dembele equalized for the French side with a penalty in the 67th minute.

Both sides continued to create opportunities to score the winning goal but failed to progress.

Eberechi Eze had previously missed his spot-kick, followed by Mendes, but Gabriel’s miss was costly for the Gunners as the French champions managed to snatch victory.

PSG have now won back-to-back Champions League finals, having won it for the first time last season under the same manager, Luis Enrique.

Arsenal have now failed to win the Champions League final twice, having also reached the final 20 years ago when they lost to Barcelona.
