Registration Unimed assassinated in Ondo Home, Police launch Manhunt

The Chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), The State of Ondo, Mr. Ezekiel Imole Adenils, has been assassinated by attackers still to be identified, throwing the university community in mourning.

Adeniran, who assumed the assignment as a third substantial register of the institution on January 6, 2025, was found dead in his residence in the city of Ondo in the early hours of Thursday 17 July 2025.

A high university official who confirmed the accident under anonymity said: “He was discovered lifeless at his home Thursday morning. He is shocking and we are still incredulous. We hope that the police will arrive at the bottom of this”.

Reacting to the accident, the head of the media and the protocol in Unimed, Mr. Isaac Oluyi, described Adeniran’s death as a devastating blow for the institution.

He said: “He was present at work recently, Monday 14 July. His sudden death left the entire university community with broken heart. Mr. Adeniran served with non -common dedication and integrity. This is a huge loss.”

In the same way, the head of UNIMED human resources, Mr. but Akinkuade, eliminated the deceased chancellor, describing it as a loyal and industrial administrator whose contributions to the growth of the institution will not be forgotten.

In the meantime, the State Police Command of Ondo has confirmed that Adeniran was assassinated and has started an investigation to reveal the circumstances surrounding his death.

The head of the public relations of the State Police, SP Olayinka Ayanlade, revealed that the case was reported in the Fanibi police division and preliminary investigations have begun.

He said: “From the first discoveries, according to what reported they were seen to emerge by two men and forced an unknown substance in a person’s mouth. We are still working to determine the exact position and nature of the attack”.

Ayanlade assured that the detectives were following more leads and invited the members of the public with useful information to come forward.

“We will not rest until those who are behind this atrocious act are arrested and brought to justice,” he said.

Since then the remains of the deceased chancellor have been deposited to the morgue while the police intensify the efforts to trace its killers.
