Three players in Nigeria’s senior team have been told they will not sign a permanent contract following the expiry of their loan deal at the end of the season, reports OwnGoalNigeria.com.
Samuel Chukwueze, who spent the entire season on loan to English Premier League side Fulham from AC Milan, will not be signed permanently and will return to his parent club at the end of the season.
His tally of 3 goals and four assists in 23 games was not considered enough to earn him an extended stay. Fulham has already informed AC Milan of the decision not to take advantage of the option to sign him permanently.
Striker Terem Moffi, who was at FC Porto during the second half of last season after being attacked by fans of French Ligue 1 side Nice, is also set to return. Porto, who won the league, rejected the possibility of retaining him on a permanent contract.
Moffi’s loan included a purchase option of 8 million euros. However, it will not activate. In 15 games he scored only two goals. Therefore, he returns to Nice, where he only has one year left on his contract.
However, he will not remain at Le Gym. The Ligue 1 side will look to find a new club for the Nigerian international.
Midfielder Joe Aribo has also been told he will not remain at Leicester City following their relegation from the Championship. He will return to Southampton, where his contract will end next month.
