Senior Special Assistant about Public Affairs to the President, Aliyu Audu, has resigned from his position, quoting fears that the country drifted towards the country of one party under the Congress of all Progressive (APC).
Audu, who submitted his resignation letter dated June 8 to the office of the Presidential Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, stated that his decision was borne because of personal beliefs and was not encouraged by political defense from APC.
He distanced himself from the people’s Democratic Party (PDP) and emphasized his rejection of the movement aimed at silencing the votes of opposition in the country.
The President’s assistant said that even though he refused to be a tool to turn Nigeria into a one -party country, he would continue to support the government of the Tinubu Bola President in his efforts to move the country out of the forest.
He wrote: “I wrote to officially submit my resignation as a senior special assistant for the president for public affairs, immediately applies.
“Even though I am not in harmony with PDP, I refuse to be used directly or indirectly as an instrument to reduce Nigeria to the state of one party. It will be a betrayal of both divine goodness and democratic principles.
“Besides, what God did for us as a nation, especially in these times, we owe him and the offspring to uphold values that reflect justice, balance, and freedom. True democracy develops in healthy competition, not political dominance.
“If we are now starting to silence or destroy the opposition just because we are in the upper wind, then we are no different from the system we have criticized under Obasanjo in 2003. Such a road is not only politically careless; it is spiritual dangerous.

“And that is contrary to the Divine order, which upholds the freedom of choice and diversity of thought. God, in His wisdom, even allows trust and distrust to coexist. Why should we, ordinary people, only fear ideological pluralism?”
Audu calls for leadership that includes ideological diversity, noting that suppressing alternative voices is not leadership but regression that is contrary to the Divine order, which upholds freedom of choice and diversity of thought.
“Let’s build Nigeria where our strength does not lie in uniformity, but in maturity to compete with ideas, vision, and integrity. Only then can we really say we progress. May Allah SWT forgive our shortcomings and direct us to the path of truth.
“I will continue to support our ruling government, not only because I help bring it but also because I believe in the success recorded in the field of economic reform,” Audu added.
When expressing sustainable support for the economic reform of the Tinubu government, Audu voiced disapproval of the current political alliance in the ruling party, especially the partnership between the President of Tinubu and the Minister of Federal Capital, Nyesom Wike.
“We are only different in political views because I am proud of being progressive and promoting democratic values, which seem to be lost in the PBAT alliance that is not holy with Wike.
I remain very grateful to you, Mr. President, for the opportunity to serve my homeland under your visionary leadership. I especially want to thank Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, a former special media adviser and publicity, whose trust in me even though you are acquainted with my nomination on August 26, 2023. I am both grateful to those of you who are acquainted with MY Nomination.
“It is an honor to contribute to the public communication efforts from this government. Please receive the highest guarantee of my appreciation and sustainable prayer for the success of your leadership and the progress of our beloved nation,” the president’s admission concluded.
