Shettima arrived in Sierra Leone to attend the ECOWAS summit

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Sunday arrived in Lungi, Sierra Leone, to participate in the 69th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States.

Upon arrival at Sierra Leone International Airport, Lungi, Shettima was received by the Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr Mohamed Jalloh; Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu; and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Sola Enikanolaiye.

Also present to receive the Vice President was Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Amb. Come on Luther-Ogbomode; Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo; Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to ECOWAS, Amb. Olawale Amazed; among others.

This high-level meeting brought together heads of state, government officials, diplomats and development partners from across West Africa.

Participants are expected to discuss key regional issues, including peace, security, economic integration and sustainable development.

Nigeria’s participation in the summit underscores its commitment to regional diplomacy and its determination to strengthen cooperation among ECOWAS member states.
