STARS were dispatched to the RCMP scene near Irricana

RCMP are investigating the incident near the town of Irricana, northeast of Calgary, on Friday evening.

A section of Highway 9 on the edge of the residence was closed with police tape because several RCMP vehicles were still at the scene. Officers were also seen searching the location on foot.

The RCMP confirmed to Global News that its members were called to attend an incident involving RCMP near Irricana, but did not provide further details.

STARS Air Ambulance confirmed it was dispatched to an emergency scene in the Irricana area, but said its crew did not transport anyone.

Few details have been released and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
