Judge Peter Lifu from the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Monday rejected the lawsuit for upholding the N50 billion fundamental rights submitted by the former Deputy Governor of the State Edo, Philip Shaibu, against his boss, Godwin Obaseki and others
The judge in the verdict rejected the lawsuit after the application to pull it by Anita Oteh, who appeared for Shaibu.
At the trial continued on this matter on Monday, Oteh told the court that the parties in the lawsuit had resolved their differences, therefore, the need to withdraw it.
However, Aliyu Abdulkadir, who represented the Attorney General Agung Federation (AGF), told the court that he did not know the settlement.
He said if there was a solution, he had to be told by the parties.
“However, we do not oppose the withdrawal application and also will not ask for fees, but I will make a simple request,” the lawyer said.
Abdulkadir, therefore, prayed that the court ignored the lawsuit.
Oteh did not agree with Abdulkadir’s request and urged the court to give their application to withdraw the lawsuit.
