The death toll in the attack of the Benue Shepherd reached 56

The victim died in Thursday’s attack by the alleged shepherd in Ukum and the regional logo of the local government in the state of Benue had increased to 56.

The attackers in the early morning invaded the people in two LGA and killed 17 people.

They killed five people in Ukum and 12 in LGA Logo.

Some people were also injured in the attack.

Governor Hyacinth Alia visited a scene to assess the impact of attacks on Saturday.

In a chat with journalists in the affected community, the governor urged the federal government to deal with increasing insecurity in the state.

He condemned violence attacks against people who were helpless and called for greater actions than security agencies to examine murder.

Alia urged people to refuse the temptation to take the law to their own hands.
